Culture

Cultural and Event Services provide Järvenpää with diverse events and cultural experiences, advise and assist in the organisation of events and support both recreational and professional cultural activities in the city.

Culture and experiences

Cultural and Event Services provide diverse events and cultural experiences for Järvenpää Hall, other City facilities and as part of city events, among other things. We bring children’s and youth culture to the everyday lives of daycare centres and schools, in particular. We also coordinate gallery exhibitions and film activities.

See our upcoming events in the Järvenpää Event Calendar.

Grants and support for event organisation

We support the annual art and music events held in Järvenpää, as well as the work of professional artists and the independent creation of culture, through targeted and operating grants.

In addition to our own event production, we provide general advice and support for event organisation.

Kolmisointu cooperation brings the University of the Arts Helsinki to Järvenpää

The City of Järvenpää, the University of the Arts Helsinki and the Leonora and Yrjö Paloheimo Foundation, which owns the Sibelius Academy Music Centre Kallio-Kuninkala, work closely together within the framework of the Kolmisointu cooperation. The mutual agreement with the University of the Arts Helsinki provides Järvenpää with diverse events and training for art teachers and other cultural operators.

With the agreement, Järvenpää annually hosts a large number of productions of the Sibelius Academy and Theatre Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki, such as daycare and school concerts; orchestral, chamber and jazz concerts; opera; musical theatre and various theatre and dance performances.

Kaikukortti

Culture belongs to everyone! Everyone has the right to enjoy concerts, festivals, museums and theatre even in a tight financial situation. The aim of Kaikukortti is to improve the opportunities of young people, adults and families who are financially hard-pressed to participate in cultural life and engage in arts and culture. The Kaikukortti card can be used to get free tickets to, for example, festivals, concerts, dance performances or the theatre, or to pay for adult education centre courses. Kaikukortti is personal and free of charge.
